Summarize a ChatGPT reply in one click
ChatGPT gives long answers. Distl gives you the direct answer, numbered steps, or action items from the reply you are reading — plus a one-line recap of what you asked.
Works on chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, gemini.google.com, and claude.ai. The Gist button follows whichever reply is on screen, not only the latest one.
How to use it
- Install the Distl Chrome extension.
- Open a chat thread with a long assistant reply.
- Click Gist beside that reply, or press Alt+Shift+G.
Distl sends the user question before that reply and the assistant text. It does not send the whole chat history or the page URL.

- Direct answer — the conclusion first
- Steps — for how-to replies
- Key details — for research-style answers
