Paste your paragraph, choose how much to shorten it, and compare the result with the original. The target is approximate: a deadline, condition or warning should stay even when it makes the result longer.

Make a sentence shorter
Cut repeated wording and long phrases before removing information. “In order to” can often become “to.” Keep names, amounts, deadlines, uncertainty and words such as “not” or “only if.”
Can I shorten a phrase or a whole paragraph?
Yes. Use at least 8 words and up to 1,200 characters per request. You can shorten several sentences together. Very concise text may not have a safe shorter version; the tool reports a failed generation rather than displaying an incomplete draft.
Is shortening the same as summarizing?
